Enhancing Habitat

Global demand for resources of all types is increasing constantly.  Although poaching is an immediate threat to iconic African species like elephants and rhinos, habitat loss and destruction is at least as great of a long term threat to these and virtually all species of animals and plants on earth.  We humans, having created the resource scarcity must come up with ingenious ideas of how to mitigate and hopefully to reverse this trend.  We have just begun this work at MaaViva, and we are currently working on new ways to enhance wildlife habitat.  Meanwhile, sustainable farming practices such as permaculture and biodynamic agriculture do actually enhance biodiversity and consequently do create different types of spaces and resources that greatly benefit wildlife.

Permaculture works with, rather than against nature, providing wildlife habitat;
